Electrolysis is the only permanent and medically approved method of hair removal currently available and can be used on all hair colour and skin colours.
Our treatments at the Crystal Palace Clinic are provided by a senior aesthetician and electrologist with over thirty 30 years of experience and knowledge, to support and guide you through the process. We offer a complimentary consultation and test treatment to enable you to discover everything you need to know about electrolysis and to ensure you are making the best decisions for you.
We also feel it's important to point out that we support all genders and that if anyone is just starting their transition journey and is feeling a little unsure please be assured that our caring team will ensure you have the warmest of welcomes. We are an inclusive salon and discrimination is not tolerated on any level.
Electrolysis is also used in our advanced cosmetic procedures for removing minor blemishes, and can be used for the removal of conditions such as; thread veins, cherry angiomas, dermatosis papulosa nigra, milia, age spots, seborrhoeic warts, sebaceous cysts, sebaceous hyperplasia, seborrhoeic keratosis, skin tags, Spider naevi, Syringoma, thread veins, warts and verrucae, xanthelasma, and mole reduction/removal.
Each new client to the clinic is required to undergo a consultation and test treatment prior to having a full treatment. Even if you have had electrolysis elsewhere, we do not know which type of electrolysis you need nor how you or your skin reacts to the treatment.
During your consultation we ascertain the nature and location of the hair growth you wish to have treated, if you are suitable for treatment, which type of electrolysis is suitable for you and how you react to the treatment.
This involves a questionnaire about your current health, any medical conditions you may suffer from and any medication you may be taking. Your therapist then explains how the treatment works and the expectations you can have.
This appointment is free of charge – we do however charge the appointment at its full value of £45 for those that do not attend.
Appointments that are not attended or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are subject to our normal cancellation policy. Appointments that are not attended are charged at full price.
To prepare for your consultation and test treatment please ensure the following;
1. That you have not used topical steroids, hydrocortisone or any vitamin A based products such as retinol, retinal, Tretinoin and Retin A for three months prior to treatment.
2. The hair growth you wish to have treated will need to be visible and long enough to grasp with a tweezers. Please do not shave or wax before your treatment.
Your therapist will advise you on how long each session needs to be and how you should care for the treated area.
Please be aware that you are limited to what you can expose your skin to for 48 hours after treatment and should plan your appointments accordingly as you cannot do any of the following;
Exercise, sunbathe, use steam rooms, saunas, Jacuzzis, sunbeds or anything that can induce an increase in temperature, apply perfumed products or lotions, apply any retinol related product, exfoliate, apply make-up, self tan.
